Sales Planning and Promotions Manager

Sales Planning & Promotions is the lynchpin of our business, responsible for liaising with all functions to deliver the company budget and achieve its strategic goals.
We are looking for a Sales Planning & Promotions Manager to drive strategic growth priorities across channels, categories, and collections. This person will be commercially minded and possess the ability to craft ambitious plans to deliver joint goals. This is a pivotal role looking after three key growth regions. The successful candidate will possess the gravitas and emotional intelligence to build relationships both internally across multiple departments and externally with key global partners. You will be comfortable supporting your Sales colleagues rather than being at the coalface with customers.
What you will be doing:
Commercial Planning
- Complete go-to-market plans for all new season launches including target distribution points, competitor benchmarking & market activation
- Undertake market research for incremental category launches understanding where JJ fits in the category landscape
- Track new introduction planning and performance vs. forecast
- Build new range assortments to maximise turnover and ensure range credibility for the shopper
- Develop strategies to drive core sales development and accelerate nascent categories
- Be comfortable calculating gross margin and reading a P&L
Market Activation
- Work in conjunction with your Sales counterparts to build marketing budgets and activation plans by region
- Assess trade marketing opportunities for commercial return
- Brief the 2D Design team and manage projects through to delivery (critical path management)
- Manage bespoke projects process for your regions ensuring business thresholds are met and projects drive return on investment
- Audit digital presence within your markets and actively seek to improve JJ brand presentation ensuring brand guidelines are always adhered to
- Localise the global trading calendar by region and develop incremental local plans when required
Product & Promotions
- Build promotional plans to drive sales and deliver margin targets
- Understand JJ product pricing hierarchy and product lifecycle plans
- Leverage promotional products such as hard bundles to satisfy consumer demand
- Ensure channel segmentation through product differentiation especially for off-price retailers
- Identify any new product development gaps and flag partner feedback to the NPD team
- Attend key trade fairs such as Exclusively Housewares, Ambiente & Maison et Object
What we need from you:
- Commercially minded with good Excel & PowerPoint skills
- Good creative eye and high aesthetic standards
- Ability to work cross-divisionally to drive business objectives and sales revenue
- Understanding of different retail channels and shopper missions
- Digitally focused
