Junior Category Manager

We are looking for a Junior Category Manager to join our newly formed division of the New Product Development team reporting to the Director of Category Management. The successful candidate will be a crucial member of the Category Management team created to maximise existing opportunities, create new ones and drive the business forward.
What you will be doing:
- Accountable for an assigned group of existing and new categories within the Joseph Joseph portfolio
- Ownership of market research, data gathering and analysis to devise the strategic direction for the category/segment
- Delivery of plans for category insights, gaps, range planning and product positioning to deliver the 5 year strategic plan for the category/segment
- Working with stakeholders in regional offices to gain an understanding of target consumers in order to seek out new opportunities for growth within the category/segment
- Leading, preparing and presenting category insight and recommendations to the Director of Category management, design team and the board as and when required
- Challenging the design team to deliver market leading product ideas to achieve the growth targets for the category/segment
- Creating strategic briefs for other functional leads to deliver launch presentations
- Leading management of the critical path deadlines with the Director of Category Management for products within the category/segment to ensure key milestone dates are met
- Working with key stakeholders to build forecasts backed up by data to support decisions
- Ownership of the range lifecycle process each season and working closely with other functional leads to ensure the decisions are made on time
What we need from you:
- Strong data gathering and analysis skills, specifically to drive decisions and give direction
- Retail buying or merchandising experience coupled with experience in understanding consumer needs
- Able to manage significant amounts of data and identify key insights and work to strict deadlines
- Self- starter who is able to work well in a team and able to easily engage with stakeholders at all levels
- Adept at prioritising workload and able work under pressure
- An individual with an entrepreneurial flair driven to find new and big opportunities to drive the business forward and not afraid to take risks
