Head of Export Sales

We have an opportunity for a Head of Export Sales to join the team, overseeing Joseph Joseph’s distributor markets across EMEA, APAC, LATAM and Canada. You will be managing a team of 3 International Business Managers who are responsible for set regions in the Export department and support them in achieving their objectives. You will also be hands on and directly manage some regions directly with Canada and part of LATAM. You will report to the Chief Commercial Officer, set the strategic priorities for the Export Sales Department and be responsible for the team to successfully achieve them.
What you will be doing:
- Support and develop team of 3 International business managers through weekly team meetings, 121s, customers meetings and adequate team communication
- Establish and successfully execute strategy for the Export department
- Appoint new distribution partners where required through adequate search and vetting process
- Drive forecast accuracy across all regions and warehouses and champion new ordering process to improve stock availability
- Successfully plan and launch new product collections twice a year
- Develop a senior level network within all distributors, increase engagement and commitment to the brand
- Develop detailed plans with key markets, including retail events with Key Accounts, promotions, new product launches, categories expansion and track with distributors
- Establish strong relationships with internal stakeholders (Wider Sales Team, Customer Service, Trade Marketing, Finance, Demand and Supply teams) and contribute to develop and improve current processes
- Build a good understanding of markets dynamics and establish rapport with key partners
- Travel as required for Market visits and trade shows
- Manage export pricing across regions
- Ensure market intelligence is captured and maintained for continuity of business
What we need from you:
- Currently in an International sales role within FMCG/consumer industry
- Experience of successfully managing and supporting a team
- A clear history of successful business development
- Experience of dealing with major National and Regional accounts and distribution partners
- Experience of channel management (Grocery, Mass, Specialists and Pure Play)
- Knowledge of competitive landscape in the housewares market
- Proven track record of commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- A strong networker and capable of influencing at a senior level
- An excellent communicator
- Analytical and numerically strong
- Team player with the ability to motivate and drive a team without micromanaging
- Ability to work independently, articulate a clear strategy but also manage accounts day to day
