We’re seeking a talented Category Manager to join our dynamic and forward looking Category Management team. You will be custodians of our product categories, responsible for their success and profitability and the driving force behind reaching and exceeding our ambitious Sales targets. Reporting directly to the Director of Category Management.
What you will be doing:
- Create and own a compelling and commercially sound category strategy including ranging, architecture forecast, and distribution opportunities for each of the category you own.
- Work closely with cross functional teams including design, trade and brand marketing, demand planning and sales to deliver highly innovative, commercially viable and profitable products to achieve growth targets.
- Drive NPD to deliver only exciting products with strong points of difference for the consumer.
- Ownership of the category management and go to market activation critical paths including milestone deadlines, working closely with team leads to successfully execute.
- Create, develop and own the product planning strategy for each category and the range architecture, product segmentation plan, target revenue, number of sku etc.
- Monitor sales of bestsellers and present plans, supported by strong business case including opportunities for further growth.
- Quarterly products and categories review - identify biggest gaps in our focus categories by market and customer, and agree growth targets with Director of Category Management to be shared with sales.
- Drive NPD and other cross functional teams to ensure our products and packaging meet the sustainability credentials set out by the business.
- Develop departmental data sources, both using our own primary data and external sources to help monitor our performance and inform our decisions/direction.
- Present new products to sales teams in line with critical path deadlines agreed with Director of Category management.
- Create detailed go to market plan for new product launches including target distribution points, campaign and activation with key stakeholders and create an annual trading calendar for your categories for key regions to be approved at board level
What we need from you:
- Must have a blend of retail buying experience and strong merchandising expertise, with a passion for product innovation and a drive to find solutions that meet key consumer needs.
- Strong presentation skills, with a touch of sales acumen, and a growth mentality to move the category forward.
- Adept at gathering and analyzing consumer product data to fuel informed decisions
- Able to manage significant amounts of data and identify key insights and work to strict deadlines
- Possess entrepreneurial flair required to drive the business forward and not afraid to take risks backed by clear business sense.
- Self-starter who is able to work well in a team and able to easily engage with stakeholders at all levels.
