Head of Commercial Finance

We are looking for an Head of Commercial Finance to lead and develop the Commercial Finance Team to provide first class commercial support, through clear and relevant performance reporting, strategic and financial planning, business partnering, and decision support. Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, you will be an effective “right-hand” person to the key stakeholders in delivering the strategic and financial objectives of the business.
What you will be doing:
- Lead and develop a commercial finance team at the heart of business decision making
- Provide support and challenge to the Joseph Joseph leadership team through business partnering
- Develop relevant and insightful performance reporting. Highlighting key issues/opportunities to the Board and key stakeholders:
- Management of strategic plan (2 year & 4 year)
- Oversight of all daily, weekly and monthly reporting (Daily sales, monthly NPD Board pack and monthly Board pack)
- Lead and improve/refine the Joseph Joseph planning cycle:
- Own and develop a planning cycle for a business in growth
- Management and coordination of Annual budget and re-forecast
- Ensuring a smooth process that delivers realistic and challenging performance targets
- Provide analysis and actionable insight on the key drivers of performance, and drive actions.
- Key examples:
- Control and drive key projects agenda
- Clear insight into the landed cost picture of products, and drive actions.
- Highlight risks and opportunities
- Develop, refine and constantly improve finance information/ ERP systems to underpin effective reporting and planning. In conjunction with IT/ data teams.
- Assist the business in the evaluation of new opportunities and business change.
- And measuring success in the short, medium and long term.
- Leadership:
- Managing an FP&A manager, and Commercial finance analysts.
- Develop a team that can meet the demands of a scaling, changing, growth business
- Building and maintaining effective relationships across the business.
What we need from you:
- Problem solving positive attitude
- Qualified accountant (CIMA preferred).
- Sector experience required (consumer goods with multiple supply routes)
- Excellent people skills. Experience managing a small to medium sized high performing finance team
- Credible communicator
- Experience within a growth environment
- Highly driven individual with a hands-on deck mentality
